Getting there

Most incoming flights are to Helsinki, with daily connections to Joensuu. RyanAir does cheap flights from Europe to Tampere. Bus and taxi services from Joensuu Airport into town (10 minutes).

Train services to Joensuu are available from all the airports and ports where planes and ships arrive in Finland. The rail station in Joensuu is centrally situated, and one of the walks (Kolinpolku) starts just across the river. There are railway connections to Nurmes, 131 km north of Joensuu.
